Purpose
Alert and inform State and Federal Legislators on key economic development issues affecting the 16 county region.
Summary of Recent Committee Activities:
• EODA Board passed a resolution supporting State Issue 2.
• Discussed Health Care Reform Bill with Senator’s Brown and Voinovich Reps also Congressman Space.
• Participated in the legislative forum sponsored by the three LDD organization. Economic Development issues were discussed with several state legislators in attendance.
• Corresponded with Congressman Space and Senator Brown regarding Hospital HealthCare issues.
• Committee members attended the Annual ARC meeting in Athens.
Summary of Proposed Committee Activities:
• The committee is proposing a Gubernatorial and Federal legislative forum in the fall of 2010. This would include the two governor candidates, Senator Voinovich’s open seat, also Congressional, Districts 6 and 18 candidates.
• The committee will continue to keep both federal and state legislators informed on key economic development issues.
