Harrison County

Profile:
Harrison County is located within 500 miles of more than 50 percent of the nation's population - and more than 60 percent of its industrial facilities. But Harrison County and its communities offer employers more than just location. Start with cost of living and of doing business. Tangible personal property and real estate taxes in the county are among the state's lowest, but those great rates can get even better, thanks to the entire county's Enterprise Zone status. Because of that status, the county can offer businesses various tax abatement options. Housing and living costs in the county are well below state averages, too. Of course, on of the area's most powerful selling points is its Quality of Life. If you love the water, you'll find three major lakes in the county, each with full marina services. Opportunities for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, and other recreational activities are abundant.
