Jefferson County truly is a suburb of Pittsburgh, the true “Burb of the Burgh.” Downtown Steubenville, the county seat, is less than 25 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport. Downtown Pittsburgh is just 36 miles from the Veterans Memorial Bridge, which brings U.S. Route 22 across the Ohio River and into Steubenville.

In Jefferson County, you’ll find low taxes, commercial and industrial sites at a fraction of the cost, a talented and available labor force, affordable housing and all the infrastructure, support and resources that growing companies need. Wal-Mart saw our many advantages and constructed an 880,000 square foot distribution facility along Ohio 43, employing 800 people. The world headquarters of Wildfire Motors is located in the Jefferson County Industrial Park. Wildfire just finished adding 50,000 square feet to its facility and is in the process of hiring 100 new employees.

We are home to the Franciscan University of Steubenville, recognized as one of the top colleges in the country.
