Perry County, located southeast of Columbus, is criss-crossed by numerous State Highways. Interstate 70 lies just a few miles north of the County Line. This makes Perry County, poised on the edge of the “Outer-Outer belt” region of central Ohio, an ideal location for future growth coupled with property affordability. Attractions in Perry County include the Crooksville/Roseville National Ceramic Museum , Wayne National Forest & Perry State Forest (both featuring Horse Trails, ATV & hiking trails), Perry County Historical Society Museum , Buckeye Lake State Park, three covered bridges, several round barns, and Monuments to Januarius McGahan & General Phillip Sheridan. The villages of Somerset in the north and Shawnee in the south are full of historically-significant architectural structures. Agriculture predominates in the northern half of the County, while the southern portion is hill country and a favorite destination for hunting and other outdoor recreations. The Crooksville area with good clay deposits still has several ceramic industries in operation, including: PetroWare, Beaumont Pottery, & Heritage Stoneware.
